Fruits Basket (2019) the Final (13+)

Airs April 5th, 2021

Winner of Best Drama in the 2020 Anime Awards, the Fruit’s Basket remake is coming to an end. The manga was the first manga series I have read and this remake is a good rendition of the manga. It will be sad for it to end. I recommend that you watch the original anime that came out in 2001, and the remake!

Synopsis:

Tohru Honda thought her life was headed for misfortune when a family tragedy left her living in a tent. When her small home is discovered by the mysterious Soma clan, she suddenly finds herself living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma. But she quickly learns their family has a bizarre secret of their own: when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Zodiac!

My Hero Academia Season 5 (13+)

Airs March 27th, 2021

I have been waiting for a year for this! I can’t believe that this show has been going on for 5 years! I greatly recommend watching this show along with their movies and OVAs.

Synopsis:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not going to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies. Now, the only thing standing between him and his first class is the academy’s formidable entrance exam—nothing a little private tutoring from the world’s mightiest hero can’t solve.

The Way of the Househusband

Airs April 8th, 2021

I enjoyed this manga so much and now it’s becoming an anime! If you like the slice of life genre, this is an anime for you. The manga contains short anime chapters so I’m assuming each episode will have 4 or 5 mini-episodes in them, just like the disastrous life of Saiki K and Kaguya-sama Love is War.

Synopsis:

It’s a day in the life of your average househusband — if your average househusband is the legendary yakuza “the Immortal Dragon”! A former yakuza legend leaves it all behind to become your everyday househusband. But it’s not easy to walk away from the gangster life, and what should be mundane household tasks are anything but! He was the fiercest member of the yakuza, a man who left countless underworld legends in his wake. They called him “the Immortal Dragon.” But one day he walked away from it all to walk another path — the path of the househusband! The curtain rises on this cozy yakuza comedy!

Yasuke

Airs April 29th, 2021

I am so excited about this because it contains a black character! Yasuke is known as the first foreign-born African samurai in Japan. The anime Afro-Samurai was also inspired by him. This anime is directed by LeSean Thomas and is animated by the studio MAPPA.

Synopsis:

In a war-torn feudal Japan of mechs and magic, a retired ronin must take up his sword when he is charged with the task of transporting a mysterious child who dark forces want to eliminate.
