Peace and Blessings! This is Tobi again, and I will be giving a recap of my second Day at Anime Milwaukee. This day was mostly full of interviews, but I also still attended some cool panels.

I started the day with some K-pop yoga. It was a nice and relaxing start to the day! I regularly do yoga classes at my local gym, but doing this at a con with K-pop music was a plus.

Next, I headed to my first interview of the day with Jill Harris! Check out the interview here.

Later, I went to an Ikebana Demonstration. I have no prior experience and have little knowledge of flower arrangement, but I wanted to check it out anyway and see pretty flowers! A representative from the Milwaukee Ikebana branch came in and gave us a demonstration:

Here was the final product!

More information about the Milwaukee Ikebana branch can be found here.

Next, I went to the Clair Obscur: A Lore Panel, which is based on the video game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I know very little about the game and have only seen the intro scene, but I attended it so that I can get to know the game more and see what to look forward to when I start playing it. The panel started with general information about the creators of the game and the voice actor cast (I was surprised to see that Charlie Cox voiced Gustave), the beginning scene (which will make you cry), and then later major plot points in the game. I was slightly spoiled, but did not mind. The panel made me more hyped to start playing it! I just either have to get a PS5 or a PC first tho :/.

Next, I headed to my second interview of the day with Mallorie Rodak! Check out the interview here.

Next, I checked out the beginning of the panel Trigun Stargaze – Now and Later, where Akie Ishi, the director of episodes 3 and 6 of Trigun Stargaze, shared her experience working on the show. I checked this panel because I was a huge fan of Trigun Stampede. A funny moment I witnessed was when Akie said it took her a year to work on an episode of Trigun Stargaze, and that she is always dreaming about it. She also discussed how to create a sense of life in the characters in this anime, including adding depth to the characters’ facial expressions. I unfortunately had to leave the panel early to head to my next interview, but it was still great to hear a little intro on what it’s like to direct this anime.

Lastly, I headed to my last interview of the day with Jordan Dash Cruz! Check out the interview here.

In addition to all the interviews, I also networked with other press outlets that also interviewed guests at Anime Milwaukee. It was great to witness their unique interview style as well. Here’s a list of their social media info, and feel free to check out their interviews!

Overall, Day 2 at MAKE was great! I started with a relaxing day, then I met great voice actors and networked with other press outlets, learned more about flower arrangement, nerded out on Clair Obscur, and learned more about directing anime! Stay tuned for my Day 3 review of Anime Milwaukee!
