Peace and Blessings! It has been a couple of months since I last posted; I was on my Surgery rotation, then I had to study for Step 2, and lastly apply for Psychiatry Residency Programs. That has kept me busier than usual, but I still was able to sneak in some anime during these times. Now I’m freer and excited for this Fall anime season! Most of these are continuing series, with a few new ones. There’s also a lot of comedic animes I’m looking forward to. Here are my picks:
3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei
Airs October 7th

If you didn’t know already, Gintama is mine and Toyin’s all-time favorite anime, so I’m excited for this Gintama spin-off! In Gintama, there will sometimes be a short after-credits scene that takes place in this school setting, so I think this anime is an extension of those. I heard that this show is great for folks who have yet to watch Gintama, but want to see what it’s like. Gintama may be a confusing show for some, so I would recommend checking this out first. I also love a funny show that takes place at a school. I can’t wait to re-live the comedy from Gintama in this new anime!
Synopsis:
A sloppily worn lab coat, lifeless eyes just like a dead fish’s. He’s the most un-teacher-like high school teacher, Sakata Ginpachi. The class he’s in charge of, 3Z, is filled with ‘intensive’ students who have created a horrifying amusement park.

Ranma 1/2 Season 2
Airs October 4th On Netflix

I enjoyed season 1 of the anime remake, so of course I’m going to check out season 2! Rumiko Takahashi is also one of my favorite mangakas, and I love her style of comedy from her other works (Inuyasha, Urusei Yatsura). The first season of Ranma ½ remake is my favorite comedy anime to date, and I can’t wait for more!
My Hero Academia Final Season
Airs October 4th on Crunchyroll

My Hero Academia is coming to an end I’ve been watching the anime since 2018, have watched most of the movies in theaters, and formed many memories while cosplaying Ururaka at anime conventions. It will be sad to see it go, but I’m eager to see this epic conclusion.
Record of Ragnarok III
Airs December on Netflix

This anime is so silly, but I love it. The multiple-episode fight scenes are so great, and the back stories behind the gods and humans keep me hooked on this anime. I can’t wait for more epic fights!
We were able to interview the voice actor of Buddha, Maaz Ali, from the previous season! Feel free to check it out here.
One Punch Man Season 3
Airs October 12th on Hulu

It’s been years season 2 has come out, so I’ll need to do a rewatch lol. However I’ll definitely be checking this out since I really enjoy the comedy and action in this series!
Spy x Family Season 3
Airs October 4th on Crunchyroll

I’m also excited for this one! Will each of the family members finally discover their true powers? I guess we’ll see! Can’t wait for more shenanigans 🙂
Star Wars Visions 3
Airs October 29th on Disney +

Star Wars Visions is back and I’m so excited! All of the animation in this looks beautiful 🙂 Not only that, but there will be continuing stories from earlier seasons, including The Ninth Jedi, The Village Bride, and The Duel! I can’t wait to see more epic stories in this universe.
Cat’s Eye
Airing on Hulu

I’ve never heard of it before, but this is a remake of the original series that came out in the 1980s. I decided to pick this up because the premise sounds really cool! This trio kind of reminds me of Totally Spies, but even cooler since they are stealing museum items. I can’t wait to see how this story goes!
Synopsis:
During the day, the three Katsugi sisters are the proud owners of the Cat’s Eyes Café; but at night, Hitomi, Rui and Ai become the most wanted thieves in town! After sending a preliminary business card to the police, warning them of what they plan to swipe next, the girls rob the most precious pieces of art from well-guarded museums and secured private collections. The sisters, however, do not steal for money; everything they steal belonged to their father. By collecting his items, the girls are hoping to find clues that will help explain his vanishing in 1945. However, on the other hand, the clumsy Inspector Toshio Utsumi is on a mission to stop the Katsugi sisters; what he didn’t plan for was the fact that his fiancée is one of them…
Dusk Beyond the End of the World
Airing on HiDive

I decided to check this out since it’s been a while since I picked up a new romance anime. It also deals with AI and how society interacts with it. The Android also seems like a fun character. Can a human fall in love with an android? Let’s see how this goes!
Synopsis:
When growing tensions around AI spark civil unrest, Akira is caught in the crossfire when he protects his girlfriend from an assassin’s bullet. Hundreds of years later, he awakens from cryogenic sleep to an unfamiliar world. As he struggles to come to terms with his new reality, he bonds with an android called Yugure, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his girlfriend. Now, he must ask himself what love means in a world where technology has changed the very fabric of society.

To Your Eternity Season 3
Airs October 4th on Crunchyroll

I love this show even though it gives me depression lol. I’m excited for this since the story will now be taking place in the present day. I can’t wait to see who Fushi meets next, and what relationships will form. I highly recommend this anime, and I wish it got more love.
Thanks for reading to the end! Please share what you will be watching in the comments!
